The Reverend Horton Heat Scorches Hooked Happy Hour

Salt Lake City- It takes a lot to catch the attention of the over 14,000 industry buyers, sellers, athletes, gear freaks and media that attend each Outdoor Retailer Show held in Salt Lake City.  However, Hooked on the Outdoors has come up with a working formula that seems to have caught the masses attention: Free Beer and Great Music. In what has become the “must attend” event of each show, the Hooked Happy Hour continues to outdo itself.

This year’s Winter Market was no exception when the Hooked team brought in the Reverend Horton Heat for a Sunday night sermon at the Hooked Happy Hour party. Show attendees were stoked to have the Reverend in town and showed up in droves to hear him and Jimbo unload a mix of classics and new songs in the 2 hour show.

The energy in the room was electric, with both the band and the crowd thriving off the intimate venue. In the VIP (this reporter has connections) I heard one group talking about how quickly the Reverend sells out in NYC…well Soho has nothing on the Hooked Boys.

With the crowd sticking around until past 8:00 pm, Hooked is a rare force that can keep OR attendees in the hall past the closing bell.

It’s hard to top the Reverend, so it should be interesting to see who Hooked brings to Summer OR. My vote is for Wille Nelson…

Check out these photos from the show and keep your ears open to find out who the Hooked on the Outdoors guys will be bringing to the Summer Market in August.
