Help Save Wolf Creek, Colorado

Wolf Creek Ski Area
(Article provided by Skier's Journal)

Wolf Creek Needs Your Help

Help save Wolf Creek! Get angry and get vocal! Wolf Creek is a small family-run ski area with an annual snowfall of 465in, nearly 100 more inches of fluff than most other Colorado resorts. With a mellow atmosphere and a reputation for great backcountry skiing, Wolf Creek, located in southern Colorado attracts skiers from Gunnison to the Front Range with incredible early season snow.

Now billionaire developer Red McCombs is wants to build a massive luxury village adjacent to Wolf Creek Ski Area. This will adversely affect local communities and businesses, negatively transform the ski area, and be disastrous for the environment. He has used his political connections to try to skirt environmental laws, and unless Wolf Creek's supporters speak out, he could be successful. He has even filed a lawsuit against the family that owns the ski area in a thinly veiled attempt to steal the ski area away so they can not stop the development.

If you would like to learn more, please check out the Environmental Impact Statement, and also the Friends of Wolf Creek.
