Spring is a great time to get muddy and help local outdoors organizations clean things up! Winter takes a harsh toll on our favorite backcountry destinations and the majority of places we love rely on volunteers to keep them accessible. Volunteering not only gives one a sense of pride in maintaining beautiful places, it also is a great way to meet other like-minded individuals focused on the preservation and conservation of wilderness areas.
While most volunteer activities are grass roots oriented, the spirit behind such efforts has helped create International Trails Day. Trails Day is an international campaign meant to inspire people to act locally in their own communities to improve trails, parks, crags, and any other outdoors locales that may be in need of maintenance.
