Rather spend the hour napping instead of running? Is the weather not cooperating with your schedule? Here are a few tips to help you get out the door.
Set Goals Make sure they are realistic and achievable; something that gets you thinking beyond the present moment and out the door. Even if your goal is ten minutes, it at least gets you out the door.
Schedule Your Workout Consistent workout times give structure to your program, so choose a time that works consistently from day to day. Before you know it, you’ll be tying your laces without a second thought.
Find a Training Partner Whether it’s your friend, neighbor or FIDO, when you know someone is waiting for you each day, you’ll be less likely to leave them hanging come workout time.
Change Your Routine If you are dreading your daily workout, try something new. After a day or two away from your normal workout routine, you’ll be refreshed and rejuvenated.
Have Fun Running is supposed to relieve stress, so vary your workout routine and reward yourself with rest days and ice cream. If that doesn’t work, try running like Pheobe.
