Rather than packing up your gear for the winter, fall is the time to celebrate whitewater. The celebration of fall water releases has led to the creation of these great events:

AW Gauley River Festival ~ September 22nd - 24th, 2006 ~ Summersville, WV

This event focuses on showcasing paddlesports and raising funds for the American Whitewater Association. Started in 1983, the Gauley Fest has grown to become the largest river festival in the world, >> more information

Mosse River Festival – October 13 - 15, 2006- Old Forge, NY

Paddlers of any ability can attend the Moose Festival confident they will find water available for their level of expertise—all within a short drive of Old Forge. >> more information

Russell Fork Rendezvous and Lord of the Fork Race - October 28-29 – Elkhorn City, KY

This whitewater event has been running the legendary Russell Fork gorge for 10 years. This year’s race will be the 4th release weekend, October 28-29 at 2:00pm. For more info contact Jack Ditty (304) 296-1582 E-mail
